Haha, do you actually believe the crap you write? :)

I too, wave and send a "greeting" of some type toward every single person I see while out riding/running. I usually ride 55-65 miles each Saturday and Sunday, and I follow it with a run of 8-10 miles.

On any given "outing," I see 10-15 bikers and 10-15 runners. Zero - NONE - return my greeting. I just don't get it... And I live in the "friendly" state of WI...

So, lately, I've started waving as soon as I spot someone on the horizon. As they get closer, I turn-up the waving/greeting. Very occasionally, I'll get someone to return my greeting. Most say/do nothing, so I'll shout out "dick!" as they ride/run by. Only then do they return my salutation - usually with a "fook you" or similar.

WTF is wrong with people???
----------

I am a waver and greeter to, but I dont do that when I am exhausted and have to concentrate on what I am doing (zombie running/riding). But then again, you can tell when someone is exhausted.

Cheers

Stop by the Expo and visit Cal U tent and say hi to Dr Robert Taylor...he's one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. If he's got time ask him about his PR or ER program to help the Blais Foundation for ALS.

I think Mr. Scott Tinley is hanging out there this week with him too. Another friendly and approachable guy!!!

Most of the time it seems people who get waved are surprised someone actually said hello and then aren't prepared to wave back before the pass. Perhaps the person was still half-asleep..

As for over-worrying, I subscribe to a worry taper as well as a workout taper since I over-analyze everything.

When I raced in Kona people (other athletes) were definitely snooty before the race but after the race everyone was nice. It was funny...we stayed at a condo and when we were leaving we left a note in the guest journal of the condo. I looked back a few years and another athlete competing in Kona had stayed there a few years ago. He wrote the exact same comment in the journal.."people were nice AFTER the race"....I think it is just a snootiness associated with being at the Big Dance....

Really?

Here's one of those rude, too-into-them-selves and unfriendly triathletes out training on the Queen K this week!! :-)

Tom,

Actually that is half serious. Given, CW's form right now, I think an unfortunate mechanical is the only thing that is going to take her out of the race.

In Tim Carlson's interview on the front page( The best interviews going from Kona BTW - Thanks, Tim), she says that the break from training with the broken arm earlier this year, in hind-sight was exactly what she needed!

It will be interesting to where she finishes up overall!

They are understandably nervous, focused, intimidated, confused, and excited. I would not expect them to be warm and fuzzy, especially while out training or testing the course.

I agree. Well stated.

The New Specialized Wind Tunnel
Will this be a game changer for Specialized, in both sales and product design, or will it not move the sales and design needle versus those in Specialized's competitive set?
