Easter Camp Good Friday Apr6 - Apr 15th (10 days) Quote | Reply

Hey guys,

Here is a quick reminder that the Easter Virtual Camp starts tomomorrow morning. I might not be able to get to ST till mid afternoon to remind everyone, so here it is. I'll post all the rules and points systems mid afternoon, but basically it is the same system as we used during Xmas Camp.

Let us know if you are playing. Weather here does not look like it is cooperating to log some outdoor miles this winter...snow and sub zero temps! Might be stuck on the trainer and doing lots of running...fortunately the pool is open.

For Xmas camp I snuck into gold club, but I was off work. With work, bad weather and business travel next week messing with access to bike and a pool, I'm going for Silver club (100 pts per day pace) and if I stretch it maybe Carbon Fiber Club. I'll try and make up with intensity and hope it all falls together for Wildflower

Dev
---------------------

Edit: Updated with Camp Rules from December Camp:

Below is the point scheme. Please do not debate it. It is what it is (refined after much debate from 3 camps over the past few years). If you do something else not listed below, use the honour system and translate it into something (for example, 60 min of hard core soccer with your 14 year old kids running circles around your middle age attempts might qualify for 40 points)
  1. Run 60 min = 60 points
  2. Swim 60 min = 40 points
  3. XC ski 60 min = 40 points
  4. Snowshoe 60 min = 40 points
  5. Speedskate 60 min = 40 points
  6. Bike Indoors trainer or rollers on a real bike, or spin bike 60 min = 40 points
  7. Weights 60 min = 40 points
  8. Rollerski or In Line skate 60 min = 40 points
  9. Cardio equipment at gym (recumbant bike, lifecycle, elliptical) 60 min = 30 points
  10. Outdoor Biking 60 min = 30 points

HONOUR RULES:...weights is actual time lifting...you can't count the time sitting on the bench checking out the hottie for 5 minutes as you "recover" between sets. Swimming you can count actual time taken for a complete set (ex 10x200 on 3 min....no need to subtract your 15 second rest when you come in on 2:45...but if you hang out for 5 min between sets that time comes off the points. Biking is actual time moving...not door to door time with three Starbucks Latte stops...running is actual run time, not door to door time

translates to:
  1. Run 1 min = 1 points
  2. Swim 1 min = 0.66666 points
  3. XC ski 1 min = 0.66666 points
  4. Snowshoe 1 min = 0.66666 points
  5. Speedskate 1 min = 0.66666 points
  6. Bike Indoors trainer or rollers on a real bike, or spin bike 1 min = 0.66666 points
  7. Weights 1 min = 0.66666 points
  8. Cardio equipment at gym (recumbant bike, lifecycle, elliptical) 1 min = .5 points
  9. Outdoor Biking 1 min = 0.5 points

Here are the "levels" (I'm adding a few more bike material related clubs....Aluminium-Cabon Fiber-Titanium on the 250's)
  1. Platinum Club 2000 pts (rarified pro zone occupied only by gods like Wolea, CPTChaos, Cousin Elwood, Francois or Kus)
  2. Titanium Club 1750 pts
  3. Gold Club 1500 pts
  4. Carbon Fiber club 1250 pts
  5. Silver Club 1000 pts
  6. Aluminium Club 750 pts
  7. Bronze Club 500 pts

Parkito or MTL can you help with scoring

I'm in, even though I swore off virtual camps after the last one (I just can't stop myself).
It's snowing here :-( in NY.
Goal: 1500 pnts swim/bike/run only, no weight training (or X-country skiing :-) ) to be included

I will play. My goal is silver club (if the rules are the same). This will be difficult because i do a 'training camp at home' this week and probably can go on like this for the full 10 day.

But the weather seems good: sunny, sometimes some clouds, 15-19C

On the 14th I have a 12.3k race and won't do any other training that day.

Last year the virtual easter camp was before easter and I did my camp at home the week after. Not it is vice versa.

I'm in too. Part of the time I'll be at the ST Gals Training Weekend at Xantusia. Do I get double-points if I train *after* the margarita party? :) Just kidding, Dev. I know your a stickler with the points!

Hmmm, my first virtual camp. I'll be doing what my coach lays out for me and I'll see where that puts me with points at the end. No goal other than just participate in this one. :)

I'm in!
Disappointed in the weather forecast as I was planning on getting 15 hours in on the bike between Friday and Monday alone, definately not happening if it's cold and snowing.
My goal will be determined by how the weather holds out. Worst case scenario, I'm hitting the gold club.

I'm in. I could use the motivation. Quality training is tough with a new baby in the house!

Jana, you must be almost at 100 days in a row of running now!

Itzeasy, where is that pussy Eganski? He had all this smack floating around about the Xmas campers being burnt out and toast by spring. What's the scoop...I'm still going (for the moment). What's the betting line on the Eganski vs Itzeasy smackdown at St. Croix?

Felix, sorry that the dates did not align, but I am sure by playing you'll end up with a few more of those 9:20 times at the various Euro Ironmans this summer!

I'm in. Knee pain has gone away. I'll shoot for silver... maybe carbon fiber.

Does .4 sound reasonable for surfing?

I am in for for Silver (will try and sneek into Carbon Fiber)
My running has been good but this will give me the incentive to boost my bike up as well
Of course, when I hit 100/100 next thursday now I can't take a day off...

Count me in! Never done one of these, but as of this week I've got the Sylvan Lake Half to work towards. Be nice if the roads dry up a bit and it warms up too.
