Off topic, but Tri Rig's Omega aero brake is a good alternative to Hooker Aero.

It will be interesting to see if this gets bidded up to the levels these things have sold for in the past now that that Omega tririg brake is launching nearly at the same time.

Should go higher as they are still the fastest no matter what anyone says. A little birdie told me that because of its design it is still the fastest brake available and a great addition to any bike looking to be more aero.

Well the guys at Tri rig thought the same thing, as have I.

If you've seen my Retro TT stuff thread, things were crazy aero back in the 80's and then all hell broke loose, the UCI began cracking down on innovation, bike companies focused on frame weight, and generally aerodynamics was less of a concern.

Nearly every company had an aero brake at one time.

Why does the UCI hate aero so much?

Is that a steel (cro-mo) Hooker fork too? Makes sense considering the wacky bolting w/ the brake.

Can someone tell me what brake the 4th one down other photos above is?

The one below the Campy brake. I have one of those. It was on my old Zipp bike before I bought a factory brake to replace it with.

I also have one of the Zippmaero covers I could sell if anyone is interested. As you can imagine, I paid a crazy price for it.

Weinmann Delta or Delta Pro...IIRC the "Pro" the only difference was that the "Pro" had a rubber boot on it.

Ran a set back in the early 90's...stopping power was not the best.

Yep, looks like the tririg brake may have had some effect on this auction.

Now that Nick has done the Omega, there really is no need to get the Hooker. Well I should not say there is no need until we see actual test results but since the Omega seems to address some of the short comings of the Hooker and the price is lower to buy something new, I would doubt that this one actually sells at this price.

Had a dream the other night i walked into a corner grocery store and happened to look at a display case in the back. In that display case were a bunch of old new unused condition top of the line Retro cranksets and Tt rings. In the corner next to them was hooker aero brake. Think i am officially nuts now :0(
