Long time lurker here but I thought I would jump in. I'm currently 13 weeks and change and still riding outside - including on the road as well as some easy nontechnical mountain biking (including singletrack). My OB (who is also a mountain biker) encouraged me to be as safe as possible but to continue my normal activities including riding outside for as long as I felt comfortable. I'm not doing any long climbs or technical rides and I have NO problem stopping and walking if something looks at ALL sketchy but I definitely haven't stopped. There will come a time when I feel that my balance is off and I'll switch to the trainer but until then I'd much prefer to be outside. I'm also running, swimming, hiking, and lifting and honestly I'm WAY more of a threat to myself on my feet than I am on my bike. Its definitely a risk, but its a calculated one that at this point I am comfortable with. I'll stop riding outside when it stops feeling safe. I wouldn't fault someone for stopping riding outside but I also wouldn't fault those who continue to do "dangerous" activities while pregnant. I honestly think its a very personal and individual choice. I'm also very happy to have a doctor who supports it. :)
