wheelbuilder.com disc question (moving valve) Can't Post

I purchased a wheel cover from wheelbuilder.com and put it on my back wheel last week. At my race Saturday morning I went to put air in the tire. Unfortunately the tube had somehow moved and the valve was now several inches away from the opening on the disc. I wasn't able to get my pump connected and ended up doing my race with pretty low tire pressure.

Has anyone else experienced this? What is the cause? How can I fix it?

Just grab the cover by the opening and shift it back into position so you can access the valve stem. Pretty easy to do by hand.

+1, seems like I do this a little each time I fill up the tube, easy and quick. Shouldn't be on too tight to do this unless you have taped around the edges in which case you shouldn't have this problem.

What Tom said. I've had covers sometimes shift so they are a bit off center but it shouldn't be able to go very far as it will stop when the fasteners come up against the first spoke. You should be able to grab the cover and twist it back so the hole lines up with the valve for filling.

If it really bothers you have a few options:
1-See if you need the shorter fasteners for a tighter fit.
2-You can add another fastener in a strategic location so it butts up against a spoke which won't allow the cover to move. A hole punch works perfectly to make new fastener holes.
3-Or, once you get the cover on, add a few pieces of black electrical tape on the border to hold it in place.

Funny that your tube had moved even though it's stuck through the valve hole in the rim....I hate it when rims reform themselves! :)

With an actual disc wheel the tube almost never moves. I wonder why that is?
