They manage to keep the costs down due to import rules. I have one of their bikes and got it for a steel. Full crabon DA for under $3000.
Good company with great gear.

I have 101's and love them.
I'm waiting on UPS to deliver my 50's and disc today. That's how much I love them. Now I can mix and match whatever combos I need for the conditions or specific race.

That's why they were cheap. Everyone else got theirs made from aluminium and carbon ;-)

I have the 50's.
They seem fast - I had a bad experience with the braking surface on the first set of wheels (appeared to be totally trashed after my second race on them). I got them replaced under warranty, but it makes me leery about them. But I've got them and can't afford zipps or something for a while (LONG while).

Just to stop customs and excise hunting down the great boys at "Planet-X" i would like to clarify that it is not a loop-hole of tariff's etc but more that Planet-x sell direct and miss out the dealer margin in the equation. The product is awesome, made to full mega bucks standards, but so happens the "Cheeky Brits" at Planet-x sell direct and have made some great in-roads with value pricing

Speaking of Planet X wheels, is it possible to remove the decals? They aren't like the old Zipps that aren't removable, are they?

These wheels have the logo's attached in a non removable manner, but also this makes a superflush no edges more aero surface.

I use the 80's for road racing and really really like them. I have ordered the 101 front for TTs.

Came across this thread about Planet X wheels and would be interested in others experience with the Planet X racing wheels. I am looking at a set of 50mm carbon tubulars - have 3 small kiddos and just can't swing the zipp prices. Using them for olympic/half-ironman tris. Just curious.

I have had the PX 82 tubulars for almost two seasons now and they are great. No problems so far. I have used them to TT and plenty of long road races. I also just got the 101 front exclusively for TTs and it has not done be wrong. Very well built wheel with an awesome hub. Not as light as Zipps but more than halfthe price.
I am on the PX Masters team, but I give you an honest non-biased opinion. I would not ride them if I didn't think they were safe and competitive.

I've got a pair of 101's and am very pleased with them. For im switzerland i will use stinger 90's however (because they are a bit lighter).I raced a small crit last week with a 82 rear and all i can say is that it rode very well? The only issue i had was that my front wheel (old zipp) braked much better than the rear 82, this could be because the 82 rear was brand new. The planet-x wheels spin like wheels double the price...
A team-college uses 50's and is also very pleased with them..
