Boulder Lap Swim Recommendations?
I'm about to start a new job which will involve regular trips to Boulder CO.

Can someone recommend a good pool that I can use on a drop-in basis?

Looking for weekday pre-work and post-work hours. Hopefully not too crowded. Outdoor preferred (is that crazy in CO??)

Thanks!

Rally Sport in north Boulder has an outdoor pool open year-round. I looked into going there, but it's a little far from where I live. I think they have drop in fees, but I'm not entirely sure. BAM is a USMS team with a few locatinos. If you're a masters member, it shouldn't be an issue dropping in, though I've not swam with them.

North Boulder Rec Center is great. Scott Carpenter is the 50M pool and part of the Boulder Rec system. You can get a punch card...and a discount if you have a BOCO address. Check out the BAM schedule for Masters training groups/times.
Flatiron AC has an outdoor pool open year-round and an in-door pool. It's been a few years since I swam there and the facility was pretty tired...perhaps they renovated recently.

For drop-in, I think your most cost-effective option is North Boulder Rec Center. Get a punch card. The pool is quite nice even if the shallow end is very shallow.

I swim at Rally Sport as a member, but I think there is a punch card available. I do not think you can just get a day pass but I could be wrong.

CAC is nice but a day pass is expensive.

Oh yeah, and scott carpenter for a 50m outdoor pool.

for drop ins the rec centers are the way to go. Till late may you've got three options, south, east and north recs. In late may Spruce Pool near downtown opens as does Scotty just south of the 29th street mall. As for not crowded, i'm a huge fan of south boulder tho it _is_ quite far away from any place of business but if you like having the pool to yourself it's the place to go. NoBo and East can be crowded with swim team, high school teams and BAM. North and East have 8 lanes and south has 6. East is fairly shallow throughout while south and north have diving wells on one end of the pool.
