New Swim Start and T1 for Niagara Falls Barrelman
Quote | Reply
We are truly excited to have secured the Welland International Flatwater Centre as the site of Transition #1 and the Swim Start. This state of the art facility will give athletes the same incredible sight lines during the swim and spectators will have stadium seating to view the start and swim course. The pristine waters of the Welland Recreational Waterway are not subject to adverse weather conditions and have hosted the World Long Course Swim Championships and will be the site of the rowing competitions for the 2015 Pan Am Games. If you get a chance you should check out the video that highlights the Centre. http://niagarafallstriathlon.com/...l-flat-water-centre/

Reaction from athletes who raced with us last year was incredible and we believe this new Swim Start and T#1 makes this a world class event.

All athletes who enter prior to June 21st are added to the Early Entry Prize Pool. http://niagarafallstriathlon.com/...ng-entry-prize-pool/

P.S. Athletes from the U.S. still have that 20% currency exchange working in their favour.

Looks like a great venue is getting even better. Will the Rose City Half be at the same location?

Looks great John! I won't be back this year due to scheduling but I have no doubt the race will be back on my list in the near future.

I'm doing the swim in a relay, and this is super-exciting. I'll have to hit the pool this summer.

We were hoping to have the Flatwater Centre for the Welland Rose City Half weekend this year, but the facility is in use. The plan will be to move the June race to this location starting in 2016.

That's what I thought too. It'll be fun and fast and much more exciting for spectators.

I need to wait and see whether I'm in reasonable enough shape after my ironman. I'm hopeful though, looks neat!

John. Great to see that your team is taking a 2014 first-time amazing event and pushing it to an even bigger level in 2015. I had dozens of athletes do the race last year, all loved it and are bringing out their training partners as well this year. With the great proximity to USA, the nice exhange rate on the USA dollar and the great Canadian beer post-race, I know of a few of my american clients who are registering for your 2015 event. Kudos on the great job and never let up making minor improvements to an already great race & series.

Sincerely
Barrie Shepley

Does anyone who raced in 2014 have experience traveling from the states the morning of the race? I live in Buffalo and with a 2 yo and another due in May I'm thinking I'd like to drop the rig off Saturday, spend the night at home and travel the morning of. The swim venue looks amazing - hoping to make this race happen!
