I've read a few threads on here about cramping and stated on a few my girlfriend usually suffers with them really badly. We have seen some specialists recently, identified inflamed SI ligaments irritating a nerve caused by poor recruitment of transverse abs thereby poor stabilisation of the pelvis. We have also adjusted her swimming position (more neutral) and tactics (less sighting). She raced at the weekend and didn't have any issues for the first time in a year... he race report is here with some background on what we tried and why. Hope this helps you resolve your issues:
