barrel adjuster for tm01?
Has anyone tried this? Reason being, I have a Super 9/404 and I'd like to put a 404 in the back for training wheels, BUT the 404 width is roughly 1.74mm narrower and the brakes don't work great. I don't want to take my crank off every time I'm switching out wheels so I was thinking barrel adjuster, but I didn't know if it would work well with those integrated brakes. Any input?

I think you need something like this: http://www.slowtwitch.com/...rake_Lever_2602.html

Based on the last time I researched this (for a Trek SC, but same issue), the only barrel adjusters (eg. Jagwire) you can get are for derailleurs, not brakes. It sounds like they could work, but use at your own risk.

Plot twist: I have VukaAero as my basebar so I have integrated brake levers into the basebar. :(

You might have to give something like this a try then: http://jagwire.com/...s/v/Inline_Adjusters Thinking you might be able to put one right before the cable enters the down tube?

The Specifications say "NOT recommended for use with brake systems" but then the PDF instructions specifically mention brakes. So who knows?

I had one put on my TM02. Roughly same size race and training wheels though so it is not as big of a deal but easier to swap wheels, and I like being able to get the pads closer for responsiveness

The TM02 is different because your brakes are integrated.

I'll look into it. Appreciate the suggestions. I see you did MITI last year. I was there in the half. I was the guy who crashed and was taken to the hospital in the 70.3. Not sure if you heard about it since you were doing the full.

I was under the impression that the rear brake is the same for the 01 and 02?

I've actually never really looked at a TM02 now that I think of it, the rear brake anyway. Is yours integrated into the chainstay underneath the crank? I just assumed it wasn't since the front wasn't.

Bummer! I didn't hear about that. I know we had a guy go down two years ago when I was volunteering but didn't realize someone else went down last year. What happened?

I'm doing the full again this year. Hard to pass up a 140.6 where I can sleep in my own bed.

I was riding past the through the aid station and someone in front of me was making an exchange. He missed the bottle and it fell to the ground, I ran it over, went ass over tea kettle. Long story short, I ended up with a shattered skull which resulted in reconstructive surgery and two plates and three screws in the left side of my skull.

I use these. For the rear I threw the flexi bit and just used the adjuster.

Yes, rear brake is the same. Only differences between 01 and 02 (other than a little weight and stiffness) is the 01 has the integrated front brake and stem. Otherwise basically identical

The cantilever style integrated brakes on the TM01 don't have barrel adjusters. You can use the spacers to adjust the gap to the wheel.

I would prefer not to use spacers as I do not want to take my crank off to put them on each time I'm swapping wheels.
