Stag-Do (Bachelor party) & Running in Riga, Latvia
Quote | Reply
Am in Riga this weekend on a friends Stag-Do/Bachelor party. Am suppose to do two longer runs (16km each) on the weekend. Any suggestions for running there, like more scenic routes.

Am based in the city centre, so any advice would be great. On the running, not the stag-do that is.

Any bachelor party weekend that you can work out at sounds like a lame-ass party to me :)

Go... have fun... get drunk... get laid... and workout after your hangover goes away on Monday or Tuesday.

Fair point. :) But .....

I don't drink, so whilst everybody is nursing a massive hangover in the mornings, I was going to do a long run. Seems like an adequate thing to do in the morning on your own.

One potential starting point would be to have a look on Garmin Connect to see if there are any routes which have been run around the area and subsequently uploaded.

Strava would be another alternative, but I think that's just biking, no other sports.

Cheers, Rich

I would have picked hookers as my morning activity, but to each his own.... /slightlypink

Whatever you do, having been there I can promise you will see lots and lots and LOTS of very beautiful women. It's quite astonishing. There is a hotel which has a casino in the basement and a bar on the top floor, it is ace.

Radisson Blu hotel, the bar is called the Sky Bar. Just smart casual I think, don't remember any particular dress code, my mate Craig got in wearing a nice summer dress and bonnet (stag).

We stayed in that hotel, great spot.
