Women's triathlon, cool Can't Post
This morning my wife participated in a women's only triathlon here in Winston-Salem called the Ramblin' Rose Triathlon and I was very impressed. I had never been in person at any women's only race before and it was nice to see all the support these 450 or so starters had for eachother. The event seemed to attract quite a few newbies and it is part of a series of 3 races in the region that attracted almost 2000 in total. Another nice thing was that the event was somewhat green or shall we say green considerate.

I completely agree with you. I am always so impressed with how incredibly supportive the women's only races are. I did a women's only race as my first triathlon and practically every racer who even came close to me cheered me on. The first couple of times they did it, they took me by surprise. It was a great feeling to have that many people be so positive for the entire run. I know many women steer clear of these races and that's fine, but I think they are a wonderful way for newbies to get going in the sport.

They're great events, and so good for the sport. I was working a Danskin women's only race years ago, with Michellie Jones as guest. It was truly inspiring to many, and I was glad to see the number of women. I think now we're seeing a larger number filter into the sport, and I feel these races are somewhat the cause. The women's filed is where the real growth of this sport will be.

I really don't get the womens' only deal . True they are all so supportive of each other it made me hurl the one time I went to one.

Hello ladies you are competing out there right?

Just don't have a men's only tri ok. How boring.
