Winter Vinecki 9-year old racing for dad. Can't Post

Hey guys,

This may be a little off-topic, but triathlon has always been really good about reaching out so I'm asking for a little support. There's a family of triathletes from Michigan that could use a little encouragement from us. The father, Michael Vinecki was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of prostate cancer on his 40th birthday in May. He's had 6 surgeries since and 1 round of chemo. His 9-year old daughter has been racing to support him and they're a little isolated right now and Michael isn't doing very well. If you can (and I did say this may be off topic), please drop them a note as a comment at the video link below. They read the comments every night and it's a way for them to stay connected at a difficult time. Thanks for the bandwidth, tried to keep it brief.

Wow, thanks for posting. Strong stuff. I just got a note on a friend a few weeks ago who died from prostate cancer. I assumed this was something easy to cure, but clearly I was wrong.

That is why all the battles we have on ST about PC's or drafting or whatever is stupid. Live is so short. Family is all that really is important!!

Dave,

I'm sorry about your friend, that's part of the challenge..."old man's disease." When we were in Orlando we met more than 40 families with a member diagnosed under 55 years old. It's just that men don't start talking about it until they're 70+....arrghhh. Thanks.

My friend was like 54, so I have been getting some education since I am 51. I also had a friend around 40 who died from Colon Cancer. Bottom line is if we think something is not right, get to the doctor. I know mine tells me he would rather see me with nothing, than ....

Again, thanks for posting.
