What's your experience with uk stores? Can't Post

I'm currently struggling to find someplace to buy a replacemente freehub body for my spinergy rev x's, I found that there is a shimano ultegra 6402 8 speed freehub body that is compatible. The problem is that the only places poppin out in google searches are uk stores. I don't have any experience buying from them what so ever , and that's why i come to slowtwitch. anygiven help would be fully apreciate. thanks.

I don't have any experience, yet. But, I would be curious to see what you find out. There is one site, probikefit.com, that has crazy cheap prices. Anyone with any experience with them? Shipping to the US?

I recently used ProBikeKit.com, and had no problem. Again, crazy cheap prices, and I had my items within 1 week. Didn't have a tracking number, but I'm not too concerned about that. Catch them when they have free shipping to the US, and its an awesome deal.

I've used probikekit a few times. good prices and wicked fast shipping. I've gotten stuff on the east coast in a couple days - faster shipping than trisports/nashbar/performance/etc.

Another vote for probikekit.com
Shipped to Canada (East coast) in less than a week for free.
Very very good prices (not on everything though) & good service (I recently asked a question and I got an answer within 24h).

Fred.

the thing is that they only post their prices on EUROS, so I may just try to calculate and aproximate of what is going to be charged. And by the way probikekit doesn't have what I'm looking for. thanks...

Use Google. Just type in "XXX.XX euros in us dollars" and it will give you the current amount. Also keep in mind that there is a hefty 17.5% VAT (value added tax) that you don't need to pay. Most places list the price including the VAT, so you may be able to minus that of to get the true price. Check their customer service or FAQ page to find out.

Another thumb up for PBK here. I've ordered twice from them to Toronto and had no issues.

DId everyone just go with standard free shipping? Or did you use the courier to get the tracking number?

Thanks,
David

Put me down as another extremely satisfied customer of probikekit. Same experience as the others: great prices, free shipping, and extremely fast deliveries to the western united states. If they stock the item, they are almost always the cheapest option.

Hi,

try Google and Ebay for complete hubs of that generation, whether NOS or NIB.

The price of the complete hub to part out will be close to the FH body itself.

Although the KARMA is completely wrong, call Andy or Tim at HED and see if they have any old ones around, they were used on about 12-14 years worth of H3's.........again be nice and humble if you go that route, as you are looking to re-equip a wheel from a different brand.

Have used several UK stores for online shopping; sigmasport, prendas and several others.

Always had fast delivery - never any problems.

Which site did you find your stuff on. I use a lot of UK shops as I divide my time between the UK and the US.

Re: What's your experience with uk stores? [Tri@PUR] [In reply to] Can't Post

The only UK online store I've had issues with is Parker International (http://www.parker-international.co.uk/)

They have failed to process two out of two orders that I have placed with them including refusal to refund about 40 pounds sterling for an order they never shipped even after multiple calls to their customer service dept.

Other than that, I've only had good experiences with British online retailers. Most of them would be happy to ship to the US especially now as the current business environment for retail is rather challenging.

On another note, the pound sterling is hovering just under 1.50 to the US dollar which is a bargain by historic standards.

Another vote for probikekit.com. Once you switch it to US dollars it's really no different than shopping anywhere else except their prices on a lot of stuff are phenomenal. Especially Shimano gear.

The only downside is the shipping takes longer obviously. But other than that I've been very happy with them.
