What I think about UCI doping control Can't Post

Okay well at least they caught stefan and pipi, however why did it take this long? Like over 3 months? Please educate me.

From all about what I hear regarding the manner of which the UCI conducts analysis of samples it reminds me of this monty python sketch

At least they are catching the dopers. Now I'm wondering about that stellar performance at the world's TT performed by the silver medalist....

Firstly, the UCI doesn't analyze the controls, WADA-accredited labs do. In this case part of the delay was due to the fact that originally urine tests came back as suspicious for the new CERA-EPO but not conclusive enough to declare a positive. It appears a blood-based test has been in the works the last few months and possibly delayed this round of testing. Anyway what they've done is gone back and tested the blood controls from the same riders (either 10 or 14 riders based on different reports) who had suspicious urine samples. These appear to be the first two blood tests that were completed with more on the way.

If they really wanted to get down to business they would now go back and test the Giro and other samples from earlier this year or even last year's samples.
