Wetsuits ? Blue70 Reaction vs. 2XU T:0 Can't Post

Shopping for a good affordable wetsuit. Yes, I know fit is everything but my options are limited to ordering online or mail order.

Kind of looking at the Blue 70s and the 2XUs because they seem to be good for my body type. It looks like I would be a mens Medium Tall in both brands (6'1" and 165lbs.) As you can probably guess from those numbers I am pretty lean. Looking at full sleeve versions.

Anyway, anybody have any comments about the differences between the Blue Seventy Reaction and the 2XU T:0 ? I'm trying to keep the price around $250ish so that leans toward the 2XU, but if there are legitimate reasons to go with the blue70 I could rationalize an extra $50.

Would love to hear from reps and/or people who went through the same decision. Thanks guys...

I have an old Ironman Intinct (full sleeve), Zoot Zenith (full sleeve), and new Blue 70 reaction (sleeveless, "the fastest so far"). I honestly thinks sleeveless is better. So, if you can try some wetsuits out, that would be best in the long run for you. If not, i dont know anything bout 2xu, however Zoot is really constricting while Blue 70 is more forgiving on the shoulders. The best full sleeve I have ever tried on was an Orca Apex (super flexy). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Is your body type similar? Just trying to gauge on the sleeveless vs. sleeves option for someone who looks more like a cyclist than a swimmer. Thanks also for the comparison to Zoot.

Thought I'd chime in with some sizing assistance.

If you are going for an 2XU I would size up if in doubt. I helped a friend order one and based on his measurements we went for size XL.
2007 model.

It's workable, but in hindsight an XXL would have been better.

Length 6'5"
Weight 209.5 pounds
Hips 42.5 inches
Waist 39 inches
Chest 40.5 inches

Here's another, even better, tip. Save some money and invest in a DeSoto wetsuit.

Good luck!

I am 5'11 and 170 lbs and purchased a Blue70 Energie? in Medium Tall last year. It was a bit too small for me in the shoulder area. I am a former swimmer and have wide shoulders. I would guess an MT would fit you, but again its best to try it on and swim with it if possible.
I ended up with an Xterra Vector ProX2 in size Medium Large. It works, but actually may be a bit too big for me. However, my swim times have been good so I think I'll be OK.

That's funny, Blueseventy made my short list for wetsuits to buy in the next few weeks because at 5'1 130lbs and quite muscular, basically the opposite of your description, their sizing chart actually has a size that encompasses me, something even Desoto can't say with their 2 piece! (T1 to appear on classifieds shortly)...

Thanks for the sizing help. Maybe I'll see if I can rent first to see how the sizes go. I would prefer to own, but renting might help my decision a bit.
