Watch Band Discoloration

My Nike Triax Speed 100 seems to keep chlorinated water in the dimples on its band, much to my chagrin. Were it not for the whitish discoloration standing in sharp contrast to the black band, I'd likely think little of it, which leads to me being curious as to who has had luck with keeping the bands on their watches from being discolored.//d
