VOTE NOW!: most OUTSTANDING 70.3 WC performance!

Several to choose from, and while the Pro field gave us some great results I think we have to go to the AG groups to find the most awe inspiring performances on the day. Which is it then?
a. The 2:27 from 65 yr old woman
b. The 2:22 from the 55 yr old women
Or on the men's side
c) the 2:15 from the 66 yrold
d) the 2:08 from the 61 yr old.
Outlandish performances all of them!! ...but i must lean towards (d)

I really don't want to bring drafting back into a discussion, but eerrr...
No matter what, still really great times for all 4. I too would vote for d) if there wasn't this blistering half marathon from michael Raelert.

Obviously lots of illegal riding in lots of races but one thing to keep in mind. If you out of the water fast in a flat race with lots of strong riders you can ride legally and get a huge draft as packs and legal individuals fly past you.

Did any of these bike splits lead to an AG win? Or am I a jerk for suggesting a complete race is more important than the fastest bike split?

I tell you what, my wife impresses me most. She ran a 1:30 off the bike, raced the bike legal avg 150 watts at 3.1 w/kg and finished 3rd in her age group, 45-49. Fastest run in her AG. This in her first triathlon season. By the way she also has the fastest AG IM time in the country this year. I don't think she knows how to draft. But apparently there are quite a few who do know how...to.

now you need to teach her to swim in the next 11 months
and you need to get some sleep you have a big day next week

how about the 2 girls that outsplit Karin Thurig- 2 time world time trial champ, 2 time bronze medalist in olympic road time trial and multi national tt champ. could you imagine a triathlete male beating someone outsplitting fabian cancellera? that's pretty much what those girls did...

I remember Olivier Bernard and Stefan Riesen saying one year at Zofingen that they hoped Karin Thurig wouldn't catch them...So, indeed, any woman outriding her in the AG rank did draft. Simple.
