The ironic thing is , that I've NEVER had any cramping during my longest and hardest training seccions. I went to a physician and he seggested doing a lactid acid test, i HAVEN'T DO IT, but I have quinine tablets I've never try neither.

You can read more information on a possible reason for cramping due to lack of electrolytes here:

Also, a public congrats to Macca for his sub-8hr IM finish today in Germany. Macca exclusively depends on SaltStick caspules and dispensers. Check out a video of his SaltStick installation pre-Wildflower here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muzM6MV0DKM

Cramping is almost always an electrolyte issue. You need to read up more on hydration and electrolytes for long distance racing. "Going Long" by Joe Friel is a great book that I recommend you check out.

Doing more frequent long rides can be a good way to prepare your body for long races. I'd recommend doing a particularly long ride at least once a week and experimenting with different nutrition plans to see what works best for you.

Congratulations for jumping into these races. A half-Ironman is the real deal--- It's long enough to give you a real endurance test. You'll be a lot faster in the next one.
