Timberman or Toughman
Can't Post
Which half would you pick? I haven't done a half yet, but I would like to do one in May/June and then either Timberman/Toughman in August/September. I still haven't picked my May/June race. As I see it there are pros & cons for both races. I live only an ~hour from Toughman(LI, NY).
Toughman-
Pros:
I can be home an hour after the race
Seems to be well run
Cons:
Only the 3rd year of the race
Not the big race feel as a 70.3 race
Timberman-
Pros:
Very good reputation
70.3 series races
Big race feel
Cons:
Would have to stay in a hotel overnight
5-6 hour drive to my house
Which race would you choose? I would like to finalize soon I am just not sure yet.

Do Rev3 in June and Toughman in September. You will get all the "Pros" you list between the 2 and then some. They only downside is you can't qualify for Clearwater if you were thinking that was/is an option and is something you wanted.

i want to do Rev3, but it is the same day as my 1st wedding anniversary. I've been given the ok to do Rev3 by the wife, but I'm not sure its the best idea. I feel this might be some type of evil women's speak.

I think you cannot go wrong with Timberman or Toughman. I raced Timberman several times and think the RD does a great job. And it is a 70.3. My team at Toughman are committed to giving each of you a great racer experience as well. I think the difference is that we are closer.

Especially Tim and Eugene on the bike course!!!!
I think KJ is one of the finest RD's out there. That being said, RI did an amazing job of gathering sponsors this year and was smart to avoid the Westchester Olympic weekend.
I hve paid my dues at Timberman and I don't thing I'm cut out to be a run director for the Westchster, so I think I'll try out Toughman. I too will be home in 30 minutes after.
