I can't give it all away :)
I will tell you this, I had perspective. Perspective from Athens and the debacle that we (I) made it.
I have a daughter and a crazyawesome partner, that give me the real perspective because I was constantly battling the fear of failure leading into the games, all year in fact. But seeing Pippa growing up and the incredible person and mother that Jennie is just made it all manageable. I didn't have time to let the fear of failure overcome me, I just played with them, sang songs to her, went about my day getting my training done then trying to figure out this whole parenting thing, which is just so much more important then running around in my swim suit. And Jennie wrote me this incredible email before my race and it basically said we love you no matter what, go and play. and I did. and the fear went away and when they dropped me I decided to fight back because I believed I could.
I gotta go.
ST, you're a crazy and hilarious group of people. I shake my head a lot when I read the threads but I also laugh a lot and there are some real gems of advice and council in here that have been invaluable. Enjoy.

On the one night I actually go out, I miss the SQW Q and A thread. I know I'm very late to the party, but:
Michellie Jones, Craig Alexander, Chris McCormack, Andy Potts---all who competed against Simon or in his format and went on to become World Champions. So with that in mind, my question is simple--
What next????

Simon, greetings from England. I read with interest the recent article in which you outlined your diet and the importance of the various oils you take. Could you please tell me what each oil gains you and also why you take almond butter instead of peanut (would cashew be just as good)?
My last question is what is the Victoria like as a base for road cycling? From the two brief visits I made there it looked kind of urban for a large area around the city.
Congratulations on your Silver, I got up at 0300 to cheer you (and the GB squad) on. Great push on the run and well deserved. Got to cheer on my new nation!

Simon,
Thanks for one of the most exciting races I have ever watched. It was fantastic!! If there was anything you would have done differently for this race what would it be? (Either pre-race or during the race is fine).
My new moto on my handlebars is"
"What would Simon do?"
Thanks for being such an inspiration in more ways than one.
Mark

Simon is no longer "live" on Slowtwitch. For some reason he seams to have other obligations and interests in Beijing.
But we will follow up with him once he returns to Canada.
