Holding at just over 141, up 1.5 lbs from the start. I don't think I am going to do anything drastic to try and lose this. I have some big volume planned from Xmas to New Years...hopefully I can melt off the holiday eating and more!

I'm back on the 2 hour per day training plan, so that might help too...but I also have the "rock star" sales guys in town for training, which means I have to cater to their egos and take them to lunch and dinner and next week is business travel, so I better be a good boy and watch the intake or risk turning into the Michelin doughboy (I mean tire boy...). This challenge is turning out to be harder than anticipated!

Re: The ST Nov 15- Jan 02 Zero Pound Weight Gain Challenge: The Best Way to Get in Shape is to Stay in Shape [devashish paul] [In reply to] Can't Post

I started at 168lbs 3 weeks ago. I have not been running due to a knee issue (possibly/probably IT band). I have been swimming with a Masters team for the first time and that has been kicking my butt good. I guess I'm going to consider this a 'swim-focus' month. As certain people talk about their 100,000 meter months though, my big volume ~45,000 meters is pretty paltry.

What surprised me was my weight. I assumed I would put on a few so cut back on the food slightly. I don't count calories but always eat healthy food. I've merely reduced my portions. With swimming taking the place of some running (definitely not all) I'm somehow down to 162 lbs. I can just picture my running muscles wasting away. I assume that's what is happening, not a reduction in body fat. I need to get healthy soon and start running again.

Holding steady...just a hair above 135....

-1 from Nov. 15

Cut back on the beer a bit - I think that's been the key. Only problem now is that a new shipment of these arrived at my grocer:

The post-marathon fluid retention has hit so I'll stay off the scales for a few days. Back on the good eating program today.

Down 8lbs from Nov 15. The 200 mile/month running challenges are working quite nicely along with some swimming and riding and limiting the eating out and bad stuff only to actual holiday parties.

Forget speedwork. Speedwork is the icing on the cake and you don't have a cake yet. - MattinSF

DP-

I'm very happy to be at -2 lbs since I last posted . Lots of running these days as I prep for a Feb 25 marathon. It feels awesome to have just racked up a 50+ mile week without any injuries : )

How is everyone doing?....too many parties for me...up to 142 lbs (up 2 lbs from the start)...despite a 15 hour training week! Damn, I'd like to say it is muscle with all the XC skiing and weights, but its not....the belt buckle test does not lie. Will need to clamp down a bit with some business travel coming up this week!

Hanging tough at 182. Man I blew it this morning when the woman in my department came in with brownies, rice crispy christmas squares and some other high fat treats. I will have to ride harder tonight on the trainer.

Down to 116. My goal is 117-118 for January 1st. My goal is not weight loss...just weight maintenance. It's only down a bit because of all the holiday prep added into an already pretty full schedule. I am in a maintenance phase with my training (about 8-9 hrs a wk) until after the holidays. I am having a blast filling in the extra time with seeing friends and stuff...
Once I start baking, I will be thrilled to hang at 118 for the Jan. 2nd "finish line"...

Nicely done. Good to see I'm not the only one who uses wrestling classes as goals!

I'm back "up" to 136 even. Right where I started. I'll take it considering I ate about 5 lbs. of pizza during our road trip to Connecticut yesterday.

Damn you Pepe's of New Haven.......

Although I am closer to 5'7", I hate it when short guys beef up their height, so 5'6" 142 lbs. Waist is 30 but closer to 31 ( prefer buying 31....no way I could fit into a 29 with my "larger" butt...that is slightly larger from all the squats and lunges I have been doing...):

152lbs was my goal for 1-1-07....At 153 this morning....Numerous opportunities to go the wrong way are forthcoming.
