Okay, I'm in. Damn weight just creeps up on me. 172 this morning... will be 169 by New Year! Of course having read Kona's informative posting that swimming makes you gain weight, I now have the perfect excuse not to swim for the rest of the year!

Well it looks like FM2.0 I are the smallest guys on this thread, and I am outweighing him by a whopping 6 lbs! At least I am giant compared to the KailuaQueen who tipped the scales at a full Buck and 5 cents!
How you figure? I'm lighter than both of you two at 132, but there is someone even lighter than me. Anyway, I'm not sure "smallest man" is a competition I want to win. Go for it.

I'm already on the Ullrich plan, but i'm back on the Lance plan, so count me in. The night of WC's I got hammered with Ryan Jones, Brian Diepold and my girlfriend-and Flanagan, I did 2 shots for every guy over 50 who beat me! The next night I went to McDonalds and ate 2 Royal's with Cheese, 2 large fry, and a McFlurry.
So I now have to lose about 5 pounds to net a zero. But i'm gonna start running about 3x as much as I ever have in the past/wk (16miles) so I plan on getting down to about 168!
If Flanagan wants a piece of me he'll have to wait, i'm focussed on another ex-swimmer turned Triathlete--Itseazy, aka Ian Young, aka 'TheGuyWho'sHeadisoccupiedbyEganski.'

I can't believe how many light weights there are on this thread. Even though I have dropped 23 pounds since a few years ago, at 172 lbs I feel like a big porker compared to most of the people here. 166 lbs is a good goal. If I lose some more "cosmetic bulk" maybe I can stay up at the front with the big, young studs :-))

A bit late out of the gate, but I'm in.
My only caveat is that I do need a new scale... my weight fluctuates a couple of pounds from one minute to the next. Since my bathroom scale puts my morning weight at around what the gym scale puts my afternoon weight at, I think I might even have some margin to work with here!
Oh, and for what it's worth, I'm pretty stocky by the standards of this board. 5'6, 160lbs - and that's because I lost around 15-20 lbs since last spring!
thanks dev.

turtlegirl, that is ME exactly! I am up 3 pounds since my last half in Sept. Did the carb queen thing all season. The big thing now is smaller portions, a bit more protein, and complex carbs. That said, SUGAR is my nemesis! Of all things, I am addicted to hot chocolate... Oye! And like somebody here posted, I am NOT happy putting up with that late morning/late afternoon stomach growling thing...

Dawhead, I just came off a month of "real living" which means minimal training and max diet flexibility. Next 6 weeks is max flex training (no real plan), but more diet discipline. Then when I ramp training big time during Xmas holidays, I can eat pretty well as much as I want. Its just a lot easier to avoid gaining weight than clamping down and trying to lose it while ramping training :-)

OMG I'm addicted to Dunkin Donuts Hot Chocolate!!! Subbing for meals now just to get it in!!
Seriously, I'm doing Weight Watchers, and doing the Core Plan. No sugar allowed!!! But you do get 35 extra points a week, and that will be 5 a day for hot chocolate! :)

I am in. Goal is to lose 4-5 by dec 10 marathon (hmmm...) and to be at current weight Jan 1. I will:
-say good bye to the donut jones - I will miss you, my sweets delights
-step away from the evening pistacio fix
-no candy
-drink more diet green tea
-----------------------------------
I'll be posting next week!

The only issue is that I can not run right now due to some PF that I can not get rid of. I was thinking that I might do some short 20-30 minute runs after riding the trainer for 30 mins. After that I would stretch a ton and ice the bottom of my foot. Any advice on this.
Lots of windtrainer workouts that I have to ramp up in intensity and a few swims a week. I love the windtrainer and have been just riding my road bike on there for now.
I am however going to watch my diet a lot more and try to drink a lot more water. I think that is one of my big things that I have let slide lately. I use to drink a liter of water in the morning and one in the afternoon. It helped keep my appetite in check so I would not chop down on the sweets at work.
175 here I come.

I'm in - need to buy a scale to get starting weight.
I also have the advantage of having already gained my "winter weight", I just don't know how much yet.
Standard race weight - 162-168
Likely current weight - 180
Goal for Jan 2 - 170

Better in than never.
5'8, 142 lbs (same as my IMCDA weight). I'd run and bike faster at 138, but I'm fighting a red licorice addiction. I'll see this as a personal -4 challenge.

Trevor S has been flogging me into doing way more training than I normally would. He's up from Rochester and forcing me to head out rollerskiing. By the end of this, it should be a solid 4-5 hour training weekend, so I should hit the scale on Monday morning where I started last week, with eating as much as I want :-)

I'm in too. I always gain 2 or 3 pounds this time of year and it's such a struggle to take it off. I'm in and I'd love to lose the extra 4 pounds I've been caring around for the past year. I'll weight in tomorrow morning. When do we post the -1, -2, -3 pounds?

A bit late but I would like in on this challenge. My goal is to try to lose around 6-8 lbs before FL 70.3 so no change or only negative change between now and Jan 1 would keep me on track. I weigh in on Wed evening so I'll check back in there.
