Alex is a friend and former teammate of mine (prior to him moving to NC) and I will be certainly rooting for him. It would be great to see him win in a stacked field like this. If he runs 2:59 again or quicker he'll be right in the mix hunting people down.

who have i named on here who has not been nailed for PEDs?
That wasn't even the point of your post, or the post you responded to. Your post was asking, "Why can't me make unfounded speculation about who might be on drugs?" Let me refresh your memory...

this speculation and innuendo about athletes doing drugs that has taken place over the last few days on this board has got to stop. im not naieve or stupid but we live in an age of pure cynicism. im the most cynical but have the common courtesy to keep it to myself. by remotely associating peoples names with their potential use of drugs (when totally unproven) you can be risking their potential to gain sponsors as well as their livelihoods. it simply is classless and wrong. so unless you have the written report of an athlete with a proven failed test, keep your mouth shut.
Your response...
Quote
why? the athletes people have been most vociferous about attacking without failed drugs have also proven to be drug cheats over time. take your pick -- bonds, mcgwire, sosa, marion jones, regina jacobs, tim montgomery, clemens, kraft, etc. where there's smoke, there's usually fire.
My post to you...

Seriously dude, it's one thing to have an opinion, but entirely another to bash people by name, ANONYMOUSLY, and now you're thinking it should be ok to make unfounded claims that certain professionals are on drugs? You're either ignorant or have an agenda. Seriously, DO NOT DO THAT. There are a lot of people who read this board within the industry, and a professional's reputation is very hard to build up, and easy to destroy.
So are you just not thinking before you respond to this stuff? Or do you really lack any common sense? This thread started about Stadler, and quickly turned to him possibly avoiding drug testing at IM Germany, and your post only tries to bring an association between him and drugs based on his success, ala "where there's smoke, there's usually fire." And the fact you do it anonymously, all while claiming the 10K guys had no balls to put their name to a filed claim, shows you're a hypocrite or have no balls yourself.
I'm done with ever reading your posts again. Clearly, your contributions are either hypocritical, negative, cynical, or just lack common courtesy and sense.
Edit: A quick review of the rules of the forum clearly states, "
You should also not lodge a complaint against a named entity unless you yourself are willing to be identifiable, that is, no anonymous rants."

IMCDA this year didn't have drug test, IMC last year didn't have drug test - that's what I said.
Last year Stadler agreed to blood test, this year he decide not to race. I just don't understand your point - how is last year relevant to this year's conditions? I do believe you don't use epo (or acting really nice), otherwise you would know how many days you need to be "clean" for the test...
Sorry, my point was more to the fact that Stadler has never tried to curtail races with drug testing, and he doesn't know if the race will or will not have drug testing. No one knows, unless it's Kona.

do you think before you write these ridiculous rants? i wrote nothing about stadler and was responding to this nonsensical protestation:
Quote
so unless you have the written report of an athlete with a proven failed test, keep your mouth shut.
that is just plain idiotic. if you were to follow that creed then nobody should even whisper about bonds, marion jones, mcgwire or palmeiro because none has failed a drug test and certainly nobody has a written report of something that doesn't exist. if that's how you think people should conduct themselves, then knock yourself out with continuing to put your head in the sand regarding PEDs.
do you enjoy simply making up facts? you claimed that i "ma[d]e unfounded claims that certain professionals are on drugs." i expressly asked you to show me where i did that (i didn't) and, of course, you didn't. for someone who is so touchy about PEDs, it is just a tad hypocritical that you are making unfounded claims about others on here. there are, however, plenty of other people on here who have been expressly calling out certain triathletes (and now a swimmer) over alleged PED use. my recommendation to you is to waste your time calling them out rather than myself.
moreover, you have successfully obfuscated the PED issue by tossing in a complete non sequitur of the gouchergate 25-31. i suppose that you, too, think that nike's pressure on adidas-sponsored michigan was the reason that none of them filed an arbitration brief.
lastly, your persnickety little "edit" (whatever that means) was taking from the product/company section of the rules. i'll help you out by posting the whole section since you have had a tough time figuring out what it pertains to:

WHAT CAN'T I POST HERE? Your post should not be off-topic. We are especially cranky about trial-by-internet. Do not register to post on this forum only to have your first post be a complaint against a company doing business in the sport of triathlon. After you've been here awhile, if you do want to lodge a complaint, it should include documentation, it should be measured, it should not be personal, and you should demonstrate discretion. You should also not lodge a complaint against a named entity unless you yourself are willing to be identifiable, that is, no anonymous rants. And finally, do not EVER say somebody's product is unsafe unless you have rock-solid demonstrable proof. This is as much for your benefit as anyone's (we'd prefer your hot temper doesn't result in a lawsuit a manufacturer lodges against you).
show me where i have anonymously bashed a product or company on here. good luck.
