So are your days ruined for the next few weeks?

Every year, when the Tour comes around, my days are shot as I'm either trying to watch the coverage, tape the coverage, get updates on the coverage, etc. Tomorrow starts the nearly 3 weeks during which my TV will almost exclusively be tuned to Versus. Is anyone else still excited to watch, or have the recent cycling developments and absence of Astana ruined it for you? Will you still watch?

yes, I'm very excited and will still be watching. thankfully I'm not working right now so can view leisurely every day.

Love the mountain time zone - get to work early, get a few things done, then start refreshing letour.com, etc. to get minute by minute updates. Is that ruined...hmm......wonder what the boss would say.

Just tape it all.........you will be glad in the winter on the trainer......just because you know who won a particular
stage, there are countless battles won and lost each stage that make watching it after the "fact" so riveting.

I upgraded my cable and purchased a DVD recorder specifically for Le Tour. (That, and for the Olympics.)

My wife will have a whiney few weeks but I will be all kinds of happy. If I tape the live one in the morning and spin while watching it in the evening, with the fast forward button for the commercials, I will unashamedly experience kook nirvana. I'll also avoid the pesky climbs and still feel somewhat accomplished to just spin my way along with them,and secretly smirk and feel superior for a second because I'm spinning faster that the are riding.
I may have some issues, but I embrace them.
