Scott S20/S30: Anybody ride one of these? Can't Post

Am thinking about picking one of these up if I can unload one of my tri bikes. Feels like a snappy frame and good price point.

Anybody ride one? Love it / hate it?

I don't but am interested in hearing what people say about them.

The S20 has received really nice reviews and for the price seems to be a really good purchase as a road bike.

My winter project it to convert my TCR Aero into a TT setup and buy a nice new road bike.

I am leaning towards a Soloist but could be swayed by the S20. The soloist has arguably a nicer component group, but the complete Shimano setup of the Scott is appealing.

A friend of mine is on a team sponsored by Scott. He rides a really hot Addict (with the integrated seatpost etc...) He is very happy with the Scott and is actualy keeping it at the end of this year. In years past he has given his team bikes back.

Hi - I have the S20, love this bike it was my first bike I brought Sep 2006 the 2006 model, think I paid $1300 for it.

Pro's:
- Carbon front fork and rear, which dampens down some of the road vibrations.
- Looks - Really good looking bike black and red with big tubes, looks like a mans bike.
- Very stiff with big bottom bracket really good power trfer. There is an on-line review on the S20 on bicycling magazine this is one of the things they comment on.
- Handling is great really handles like a racer, Bicycling review comments this may not be so good for a beginner.
- thing climbs like a beast really good climber.
- Fits big I am 6'3 and a 58 is a good fit for me.

Con's:
- Stock seat is crap switched mine out for a Fizzik tri arone.
- Triple I think the latest model is a compact. Triple was good when I weighted 215 but now I weigh 180 never use the small ring.
- Weight approx 19lbs from memory.

I use mine for winter riding now only so am thinking about selling let me know if that interests you. Upgrades on mine include a Ultegra Chain and Cassette 200 miles old, Fizik Arone seat and 105 pedals. Bike done about 2200 miles and all cabeling, handlebar tape replaced in the last 200 miles.

I have the Scott S2 (not S20) from back in 2005. I really love it. Rides great. I cant say anything negative about it except the stock Shimano wheels were the suck. I was popping spokes within 200 miles. But I am 6'4 220. Get the shop to give you $125 for the wheels and put some Ksyriums (or whatever) on it. I ride the XXL 61cm. fits great. Paid less than $1000 with tax.
