SRAM Red Users: Who misses their FD trim?? Can't Post

I know no one on ST rides their small ring, but now that you've logged a season or two on your SRAM Red road group, I'm asking if you miss the ability to trim the FD from small to large ring? Thankfully trimming from large to small is supported - which I do about 80% of my trims. I'm on the cusp of ordering a Red group (currently using Ultegra), and wondering when its been said and done, anyone secretly miss that ability to ride small ring/small cog with trim??

Anyone want to talk me into plain jane Ultegra?

Thanks!

get the new dura ace 7900 coming out this fall- no need to trim the small cog- and you can use any combo.

I'm running RED with a compact crank so only having big ring trim is a nice feature. I made the switch from Dura-Ace and I'm not looking back...

I have had Red on my road bike for about six months and love it. I used to have DA. It took a week or so off fiddling but after that i haven't missed a shift, front or back. I don't purposly use the trim feature. I'm going to outfit my travel bike with the new Rival and use Red cassettes on all of my wheels. I regularly switch between the 11-23 and the 11-26 cassettes. I'm sold.

big ring trim is great especially using a compact - no looking back

I've recently switched from Dura Ace to Red, and have only had the chance to log a few hundred miles on the new kit... But, I can say that with my current setup (FSA K-Force Light non-compact crankset, Red FD, Red RD, D/A chain and Ultegra cassette for training) I have had absolutly no missed shifts or trim problems. Though I avoid any cross-gearing, I've never even found the need to trim while riding. Personally, I think Red is a fantastic setup.

I like the Red too. I've got the SRAM carbon TT shifters the front being friction so I kinda can trim it.
I'm still messin with the FD set up. My frames braze on barely alllows me to get the FD cage parallel with the big ring.
I try to do my own wrenching so I'll keep messin.

Okay, I hear you all that you love your Red, I knew that going in.

Question is, do you miss the capability to trim up from small to big ring.

Yes I hear the DA7900 says no need to trim.. though i think shimano has said that before too..

Thanks all.
