PCH is not a good idea around there. Assuming you don't want to drive to somewhere else your best bet is probably to ride south from playa down the beach to Palos Verdes and ride around, you can make all sorts of loops just by following your nose. It's hilly for near the beach and on a clear day the views are spectacular. You can't really miss it, it's the big hilly headland you can see as you head south.
Forget speedwork. Speedwork is the icing on the cake and you don't have a cake yet. - MattinSF
