Pulling the trigger on a Cervelo R3 or R3 SL? Can't Post

I am about to pull the trigger on a new R3 or R3 SL. Can anyone tell me what you've liked or not liked about yours? Any real difference for the money with the SL?

A very small difference in weight. About 80 grams I believe. The 2008 R3 uses a size 32.4 seatpost so you dont have a lot of seatpost options. The R3-SL uses a 27.2 so you get a lot of options. The 2009 R3 will have a 27.2 seatpost...I think. I went with the R3-SL more for color choice. FYI: R3-SL is the best road bike I have ever ridden and I have ridden some nice bikes.

I tested them both for a few weeks and couldn't tell the difference so went with the R3. You can get a shim if you want to use a 27.2 seatpost as I think only Campy makes a replacement that size or buy a 2009. The Cervelo forum has plenty of threads on this as well.

I bought an R3 two years ago. I considered the R3-SL, especially as I was going the weight weenie route, but the extra bux required didn't seem worthwhile. I remain thrilled with my R3.

Getting the R3. Rode them both and love the ride the same. I like the white of the R3 as my race bike is a Lucero and don't want another all black bike.

thanks for the advice...can't wait to ride it up the mountains.
