I'll blog officially for ST on the home page, plus we'll have a big official thread here inside the Forum. That one will go up on Friday and I hope everybody in Kona puts up stories and images to that thread too.

Herbert,
This is all kinda cool. I rember the days when it used to take a few days to find out what actually happened at IMH - seriously. Back in the late 80's and early 90's before the internet, because IMH was on a Saturday, it often did not get picked up by news agencies until Monday and because Monday is a busy day for other more mainstream sports coverage, all the coverage was, was the top three finishers in agget type in the very back of the sports pages in the results section. We certainly have come a long way.
Among other things, I'll be writing a story on my trip to Hawaii this year with the working title of "Ironman Revisited". It's been 15 years since I have been to the Big Island for the race and I will be writing about the changes in the event and in my life over those 15 years. To be Published in Triathlon Magazine Canada in it's November issue.
I'll try and throw a few things up on my blog and of course stay tuned to the discussions here.
Should be a fun week.

Gee you should have been in Australia back then , we had to wait until an athlete came home froom the race to find out the results , and since the Aussie numbers were so low back then we might have had to wait till we bumped into them at a race several weeks later , there was no media coverage down under back then !!
I last raced in 86 but was there in 94 to spectate , so I look forward to your article detailing the changes over the years , sounds good.
Have fun !!

My blog is below and I'll do a Kona blog but I could use some guidance (other than training updates) as to what you'd like to see, so I'm open to ideas.

blueseventy blog... at the very least we will have some very funny photos of Guy up there to keep everyone entertained. Plus inside info about our athletes that we bump into. And for those of you who can't be there, we'll have a competition running for you. Watch the blog space!

I was last there in 1993. Consider that there was no Internet back then. eMail was just starting up and believe it or not the sport of triathlon was in somewhat of a mini-slump in the early 80's - after the hype and excitment of the early days in the 80's had started to where off.
