Please tell me we are doing the 100 run challenge again... Can't Post

That was one of the most helpful forum projects ever. Are we repeating that for this year starting December 1? I sure hope so. I got a lot out of that. This year I won't break 3 ribs 17 days into it though.

I hope so too. I didn't participate last year.... but I wish I did. I'm in for the next round.

Tom, try the 100 days powercranks challenge. Your knees will thank you, and your run times will get faster.

I'm deeply stoked for it!!! I too found it to be a the most helpful forum project yet. I has changed me as a runner. I'm in the middle of a 30 day challenge with some local friends and I'm considering going for 1000k in 100 days with the ST crew this winter.

BRING IT!!!

I hope so as well. I did not participate last year, but would be interested this year. I don't see how this could possibly do anything but improve my running.

Running with broken ribs....ouch. I haven't done that since high school wrestling, and I remember looking for places to hide from my coach so I could quit running, and those were only bruised ribs, not broken.

Agreed! Though I didn't quite make it to bronze level last year as I ramped up my swimming and biking, the run frequency helped me tremendously.

Last year, running 100 times in 100 days sounded like a crazy idea. I thought people would be getting injured left and right. But I'm currently on day 142 of my "run every day" streak, so the idea doesn't seem as crazy any more.

My streak started with a one mile minimum (ala www.runeveryday.com), but now i'm up to a 20 minute minumum. I would love to see the next 100 run challenge because it force me to take my runs up to 30 minutes or whatever the minumum requirement was.

I've been planning on participating, I'm currently working my way up so that my body will be able to handle going every day without totally self-destructing. But after another season of terrible run times I'm ready to do some major run work. Oh and 1000k in 100 days sounds like a good goal, at least I still have 2 months to ramp up to near that kind of distance.

After losing most of this season's race season due to tendonitis in my hip, I would be all over doing the 100 run challenge.

I hope so, I dropped last year due to having not run at all and jumping right into that, I am currently running 3 days a week with a look at returning to some kind of racing next year and that would be just about right for me.

Hope so. I'd be game. Didn't do it last year because, as usual, I was late to the party.

Somebody should make t-shirts or something.

Re: Please tell me we are doing the 100 run challenge again... [Tom Demerly] [In reply to] Can't Post

For sure....we'll start back on Dec 1. I'm going to need it to get into shape cause starting Monday I am spending 3 weeks in China and India eating in restaurants daily, so anything in Dec to bring some semblance of fitness back will be good. I'm not exactly sure what my goal will be this time around. Last time I started with lots of doubles but I only did ~ 2-3 runs around 90 min...the rest were around 45-60 minutes. I think this time around, I will still keep the frequency up, but also keep a longer ~90 min run weekly and take a day of per week from running and aim for gold club (100 runs in 110 days), but try to hit the same mileage by the 100th day.

I'll start the entire "registration process" around Nov 27th. Hopefully I can get some help from Dan...the guy put a pile of work into making the various "sort by" sheets which really added to the challenge.

Last time it was minimum 3 miles to count as 1 run. You could skip one day but then you needed to run the next day twice at least 3 miles each time.

I'm in for sure. I am doing my own 30 day challenge right now, although my minimum threshold is very low.

Yeah, I´m also starting my own 30-day challenge tomorrow Nov 1st. If everything goes well, I´ll join the official 100/100 in Dec.

So, in sum the minimum would be 3 mi/day, 7 runs per week, or 21 mi/wk. Sounds fairly reasonable for 100 days.

I may be wrong because I didn't participate in the challenge last year, but if I recall correctly the minimum was 30 minutes, not 3 miles.
