P3 Brake Caliper replacement Can't Post

Busy getting a custom paint job on my p3 and planning on upgrading several components when I put her back together...one thing I have always disliked is the Cervelo branded brakes - looking for suggestions on replacements. I have an option on a set of durace at my LBS - trying to move some stock and the price is exceptional. Wondering if there is anything else out there I should consider???

Dual caliper (Dura Ace) work very well, nicer than single caliper (Diacompe) systems, in my opinion, however the DA's are not super light. So there are benefits to both systems.

The Mavic's are also very nice I hear.

I used Zero Gravity for a season, but went back to the new 2005 Dura Ace becuase I preferred the feel. I use a DA in the back and Hooker on the front, and on the road bike I use DA front/rear.

I have the Zero Gravity brakes on my Kuota and like the performance and looks, how about the Sam(p?)son carbon brakes for a top bike look? I can't comment on the performance of those though.

I put a Merlin together recently for a friend with a set of the ultra light weight Cane Creek brakes. I did not like them, too light I think and you pay a price. I have had a bunch of race bikes roll through my workshop over the past two years, and have tested nearly all the brakes, Campy, Shimano, Tektro, and alot of the aftermarket styles. My race bike is an original Cervelo P2 and the backup is a Felt B2. Both are built from scratch with exactly what I wanted. You may laugh, but I used the new 105 brakes on both. They are light, strong and inexpensive.

Wouldn't laugh at all at that - that is my other option at this point as the shop also has a set of black 105's in stock - no sure what year that model would be??

I have not tried them, but Cervelo is putting different brakes on now. I have heard both good and bad about them. I am changing out my P3's calipers and levers , so I would be interested to hear an opinion on the new brakes from Cervelo.

Vision levers? yes?no?

I believe the black ones are the new ones, I have 2 sets and they work great. Just to be geeks we threw a set of them on a scale and some Ultegras, nearly identical. I am using the new Cane Creek levers, I like the little thumb caps. I am old and easily amused.

Gary - what is your opinion on the Blackwell Calipers? Look decent and decently priced?

I have not tried the calipers yet. But they look solid.

Where did you get your Hooker aero brake? I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Thanks.
