Old school? Dumb or stupid : )
Can't Post
I ride a 54 cervelo P3
I still like a 81 degree seat angle, 650 wheels, 55/39 11--25
I know some will not agree but I like it and it seems to be the fastest set-up for me.
One piece tri suit.
Zoot running shoes sockless
Fuel belt for all races and no stopping at aid stations. I just don't get water when I need it at fuel stations.
Sprints when it is HOT I need water!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hats make me hotter
Clear
Jetstream on front . I like to know how much water I have left.
Tri's with 500-800 people I am usually 250th +/_ out of water ,,Top 10 ish bike// 30thish on run.
Sport legs seem to help. Race day boost from hammer for A races.
I probably do not see the type of competition you guys do. I race Illinois, missouri, kansas.
Place age group usually.
Step into tri/bike shoe in transition.
Also I notice every year I feel a little older????????

Sorry, but Old School starts before aerobars or riding "steep". You are just riding just older stuff.

Unless your bike is neon green with 7 speed downtube shifters and Scott aerobars, you are not old-school. Oh, and your styrofoam helmet has to have a mesh cover on it.
No Cervelo is old school, they have not been around near long enough.

What's old school about any of this?
I'm voting you're more dumb than stupid.

Zoot shoes & cervelo old school? You need to rock the waffle trainers or sock racers and a round tubed bike, centurion Ironman Dave Scott edition with scott dh bars would be perfect.

Old school? Errrrr, I don't follow if you mean your gear is old school.
My first triathlon the aero bar had not even been invented and I don't think there was even a disc present at said race. The first time I saw an aero bar was when Rob Mackle came to a race in Louisville and we thought it was all Star Wars!
First tri bike: Late 70's Schwinn with Suntour 6 speed. First real tri bike was a Nishiki Altron and I actually miss that old steed.

Hey guys, cut him some slack..First off, a one piece tri suit is old school, I basically invented it in about 1981/82, old enough??? And although the Cervelo brand is not old school, the 650c wheels and 81 degree seat angle certainly are..Both came into play in the late 80's..So very old school considering what was around when aero bars and tri bikes were first interduced.. And going sockless also goes back to my first race in 1978, and I'm sure many runners did it prior..Cyclists could not however because of a rule prohibiting this, but thankfully we never adopted that silly rule....
And here is a shot from '82 sometime in one of my first prototypes...

Sho nuff Monty, my first one piece was 1985 - and I was late to the game with it. Good ole' Mid-eighties purple/yellow it was, and snug enough that it would abrade your Fig Newtons to mush.

When did slowman put his ex on a steep 650 bike? Must be like 25 years ago now. That counts as old school in my books. :-)
