It's a market codified term for eat a couple hours before you workout, what to eat during workouts, and what/when to eat after a workout.

"Nutrient Timing" I believe is the name of a book... go figure. We had one at my work a while back, good read. Even though it has a bodybuilding target audience, most of it can be applied to just about any activity, in terms of recovery and proper nutrition...

yep, what Dev said. Basically, an understanding of the way your body metabolizes certain foods and at what rate. You can then use this info to utilize and maximize your caloric intake and burn rate.

Ohhhhhh! I've got "Endurance Sports Nutrition" by Suzanne Gerard Eberle which I think is excellent. Trip around Hammer's web site when you've got time. A few well chosen words in the keyword search should do the trick. Also, download the "Endurance Athlete's Guide to Success" at the same site. Covers most things.
