NorCal District TT Course - Sattley
Can't Post
No response on the NCNCA Racing Forum so thought I'd see if anyone over here might have ridden on the hopefully completed new road surface. Beautiful venue except for the freeze heave cracks in the road in previous years. Sattley is at ~ 5000 ft elevation and is a certified 40 km distance. With the new surface time might be very fast rivalling Moriarty ?? Details here along with a link to a photo:

The new road surface is pristine. Rode it often at the end of the summer and it's some of the finest I have been on. I have pics but at IMAZ with the phone so tough to post them.

Thanks - good luck this weekend. Looking forward to not making a trip to the Dentist after next year's Districts. Did they redo the shoulder as well ??

the speed potential of sattley notwithstanding, sounds like a few good tt events in the works for next season. for the berkley ttt, there's talk of it moving to feb and a new 'beat levi's time' itt category. also heard of a potential new ttt the day before merco. and mark my words: mooney is going to be flying when he gets his position worked out. i think he'll be smashing everyone in norcal other than ben j-m. glad i'll be able to race the old man category.

Agree. Dr Phil is going to be tearing up the NorCal TT circuit and beyond. We're thinking about chopping the headtube on his 51cm P3 in half to get him lower.

what we need to do is snag his bike while he's still seeing stars after smackdown one night, and paint "Dr. Phil" on the top tube.

Phil is super fast and steadily improving but don't forget about these Nor-Cal guys:
Scott Zwizanski- mostly does it in big races though. Podiumed US Pro tt
Roman Kilun- same- mostly does NRC stuff, but no pro contract as yet for 2010- went 49:29 at Sattley in 2008
Paul Mach- busted out a great tt at Hood. Nothing but strength. I don't think 40k is his best distance though. I think he can kill it in 20-30 min tt races.
Nate English- talk about potential for tt speed if he got his position/gear worked out. He was top 5 at elite nat. tt and I am pretty sure he did it on a set of Rolf Vigors or something like that. His tt bike is a mess as well. Basically nothing fast except the rider. Leader frame with basic bars, fork, etc., Rolf wheels.

Dont Forget
Carl Spackler- 6 seconds slower than Roman's best and 36 seconds faster than Paul Mach.
Glad I get to race the 30+ catagory this year.

That goes without saying- Carl was the man in tt's all year, I thought he was deflecting by talking up Phil so much.

thanks for the accolades, but i won't be able to hang with dr. phil next year. he's signing on with the same coach i use and is fired up to go full-throttle with training this winter. i might have a shot of beating him with position somewhere like sattley, but no chance on stuff with hills -- he has too much power. agree that roman, scott, mach and even nate are beasts, but my $ still does with dr. phil in tts.
jr: now a baby master, eh? you going to masters nats?
