New Felt 2009 B2R Can't Post

I just brought mine home about 15 minutes ago. I haven't gone for a real ride yet and won't have time until tomorrow after work. I have spent most of the day at the bike shop adjusting my bike.

My initial feelings on the bike... I love the look it is nice to have a Felt that isn't carbon fiber black. I am very disappointed that the B2R did not have the SRAM Red brake set. My quick ride around the block left me feeling that the brakes are mushy and don't have a lot of stopping power. I have included pics of the brake system. The bike seems to be identical to the B2 with the difference being the SRAM Red crank set, derailleurs, cassette and chain.

That's a lot of YELLOW!!!

What's that saying..."sting like a bee"? Perhaps you can get Honeyfarms to sponsor you, or if you go slooowww enough your theme song can be "Yellow Submarine".

Enjoy the new ride.

Your bike looks great. I bought a 2008 B2 about 6 weeks ago. I swapped the FSA crank out for a DA crank. From what I was told at the LBS the only rear-brakes that fit the rear-wheel cutout are DA and those generic brakes (I think they are Tektro?). Most everyone in the shop was up grading to the DA, because as you said, they are squishy feeling. Now that the 7800 DA is starting to go on sale, I'm going to pick a couple up and replace the brake levers as well.

I really like that new color. Aside from the crank swap is the 2009 coming stock with SRAM?

It doesn't make me faster, it makes the competition slow down.

Is that a ceramic BB? Doesn't look like it. What chain rings are on that thing? They don't look like the ones that ship with the SRAM Red Crank. Beautiful bike dude. Way to go!! Love it!

The big chain ring actually was damaged during shipping, it had two flat teeth. So the big ring is not the SRAM Red, it is going to be here next week and get replaced. You have good eyes.

Flat teeth? Damn. How the hell did that happen? The only reason I ask is that I'm running that crank on my QR and LOVE IT. Just something I picked up on because I do love the way that ring looks.

wow, two things about that bike i'm not a fan of:

the colors and the whole paint scheme.

and that crazy seatpost design.

ps. make sure you read/watch the felt fork/headset/stem manual/video/tutorial VERY carefully. lots of felts with that fork do not seem to be set up right in that dept. and not having it set up right will have big consequences to your frame (i.e., damage).

If the rear brake cavity is the same as the B12 (which I think it is), you can also fit a Zero-G brake in there, too. That's what I have in mine.

Are these the only two colors available on the 2009 B2? I really liked the subtle colors of the 2008 B2 and DA.

I dig the soft look of the white'n'blue paint scheme. It's not trying so hard to look fast, which is refreshing. You triathletes sure ride steep! That saddle looks pretty funny on the seatpost, like it's floating in front of it. Wish it could hold two bottles on the frame.

Check through the Demerly posts here on the new seatpost design. There are single position posts that are more elegant and less adjustable. Good aftermarket items, but less function takes away from the OE appeal of this reversible design.

There are several models of brake that fit.
Zero Gravity works, if you want something non-Shimano that is also a top-shelf brake.
The TRP // OvalConcepts scissor brakes also works.

I have not heard whether Campagnolo brakes do or do not work. I think it will be a close fit, as when I checked them with a caliper, it was close.

I'll have the official 2009 price list shortly, we were able to make a very small run of SRAM equipped models before our MY2009 offical product launch (and many industry-wide price increases) in September. Our new website has all of the MSRP's listed.

I'd recommend holding a contest allowing individuals to submit their ideas for graphic design and award the winner a new frame or some cash.

I'm a fan for subtle less is more and don't understand why manufacturers at times come up with the colors they do?
