My Bessie is one sexy girl - Thanks Elite	Can't Post

"Bessie" - What else would you call a bike that's painted cow colors? I picked up my second Elite tri bike this weekend, and I continue to be amazed at the personal service and extreme attention to detail that everyone at Elite delivers. As this was my 4th fitting with Dave, I promised my wife "it would take 2-3 hours at most". No way - Dave's too much of a perfectionist for that. 5.5 hours later I walked out with this SRAM Red, and 3T Ventus equipped beauty. A special thanks to Dave, Richie, Keith and Ryan at Elite for all of their care - they continue to go above and beyond.

Note: Yes, I know the Red on the 3T bars doesn't match the bike - I'll have it repainted over the Winter - Gold, Black or White?

Cool graphics, but the runner looks like he's in a hurry to catch the train, not the podium. :p

"My bike". Or, if you need to differentiate it from your other bikes, "my Elite" or "my TT bike" or "my triathlon bike".

What does that 3T bar cost? Did you put different clip-ons on the 3T base?

I think that they retail for $900 with straight aluminum extensions. Those are the Valdora carbon extensions - they seemed the most comfortable to me. Regular S-bends seemed too high - as a result of how low the pads are on that bar in relation to the extensions.

Wow! Very nice bike!

But where's the 18" drop from the seat to the bars? Must be aero you know.

Oh, and 'Bessy' isn't a sexy name. This thing should be named something like 'Lola'.

I'm working on it - got to start taking those yoga classes! Drop is 6.5 cm's and STA is 79 degrees. I'm 5'6" with long legs and a short torso. I've got another 0.5 cms lower that I can go on the stem if needed, as well as a small spacer between the base bar and pads. The 3T bar has a +6 degree stem. I was impressed that Dave was able to get me low enough on a 700c bike. My older Elite has a negative 17 degree stem, and no spacers on a 650c frame (you'll notice how short the HT is on the new bike).

Bessie looks fast! Congrats on the new ride. That front end looks sleek. The guys at Elite are the best. I'll be bringing my Elite down to them in a few weeks for its tune up and journey down to Florida.

very nice! i love the gold pinstriping (i think it's gold, i'm colorblind).

best thing about seeing someone elses elite is that it'll never look like mine or anyone elses!!

and anyone who questions someone's fit done by david greenfield should have their saddle permanantly turned vertical as punishment!!

OK, it's a pretty bike. All Elite's look sweet.

But this being ST, I hafta say
* don't you think it'd be nice to have more than 0.05cm drop to the aerobars? It is a tri bike, right?
My road bike has more drop than that, and I got fitted by "Mr Slack", Paul Levine
* are you 3.5' tall or something? Francois' long-lost brother, separated at birth?
* race wheels??? You do own race wheels, right?

On the plus side
* that Ventus bar looks totaly badass from the front
* pic w/ chain in big ring, as God and Bjorn intended it

Drop is 6.5 cms, not 0.5 cms. I have another 0.5 cm spacer that I can take out if need be to get to 7cms. I think Dave said the hip angle is 95 degrees, and he does most of his fits at 97 (note: I guess this depends on where you measure - I commented that I thought 90 degrees was "normal" and he told me that he only sets up some pro guys for TT at 93 degrees)

I actually left all 5 of my 650c race wheels at Dave's, since I'll now need 700c. Got any for sale? Or, wanna buy a Zip disk, Hed Alps rear, Elite 404 front, Hed 3 front or old Zipp 440 frony (with the gold hub) ;-)

These guys at Elite are top notch- just great dudes. IM WIS 06 I had a problem with a HED 3. The hub was messed up. One of my pals (webb f) knew the guys from Elite and we went to their service area to see if we could get it fixed up. No luck as it needed to be stripped and rebuilt. I was able to get a new HED 3 in time for the race, but the service dude said he would take the crapped out HED 3 to Philly and see if he could fix it up. I left it with him and pretty much forgot about it until it came back in the mail good as knew- sent directly to my home. I inquired as to the charge, and the dude said no worries, no shipping no nothing, just spread the good word. Well- I am spreading the good word- these guys are great. Best thing is, I dont ride an Elite- but if I need a new rig, and if can figure out how to get one from these cats- I will do so. They go above and beyond and my friends who ride Elite bikes all rave about the service. You get no bike shop cool guy bullshit from these guys, nor any blah blah blah- they are the real deal.

Ok, before the thread completely implodes in to craziness I just want to say that I wasn't questioning the fit! There are so many factors that need to be taken in to consideration when fitting someone that I always try to give the fitter the benefit of the doubt. That's why I made my statement in pink! (well, I use a pseudo pink because I'm NOT Clay Aiken).

And BTW, I think Clay Aiken was the only one who didn't already know he was gay!

Oh, and despite the resemblance, somehow Annette Benning is still very attractive. :)

But seriously, please find a more flattering name than Bessy!
