That's great news, but once again,do not put this stuff in the title of your thread. Just say something generac about the 5o free, and then put spoiler in the title. A lot of us are watching this on TV and do not want to know the results ahead of time...

That's a good point Monty. I believe the semis come on tonight at 8 EST. I'm taking Mrs. Rob2681 to the movies and then we're rushing back home to catch it. We watched him in the 100m Free finals last night and he had a slow first 50m and had to make up too much ground coming back. He got third which puts him on the 4x100m relay team, but I'm really hoping he gets to compete in an individual event though.

If it's such a good point, why didn't you edit the title of your original post?

50 was a first round prelim swim. semis and hopefully finals still to go for him. I'd love to see him and the Mouth That Sprints (Gary Hall) take the two Olympics spots.

Scary thing is that he's still working on figuring out how to swim an elite 100M. He was out in 22.7 in the prelims of the 100, 23.6 in the semis and 23.3 in the finals. If he can figure out some consistency and comfort in the first 50, he's a 47 second player in the 100.
