Kona televised?	Can't Post

Is Kona televised? I was under the impression that it was being televised but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

It will be carried on our local NBC station.

On December 13.

Live if you connect your computer to your tv or the almost live usually within 30 minutes via athlete tracker.

On the December date, you get to see the pros and human interest stories as long as your local station decides to run something like a triathlon.

Has a triathlon, let alone an IM ever been televised live? I would think this would be really hard to pull off and or extremely boring to watch.

I think the Lifetime fitness tri was live a few years ago? Someone else will chime in. The Ironman was also live via the internet.

The Olympic triathlons were apparently broadcast live in Canada and some other countries, although in the U.S. they were shown on tape delay.

2004 & 2008 Olympic tri's (here in Middle Earth both the men's & women's races were seen live)
2006 ITU World Cup race in New Plymouth, New Zealand (depending on the country, events are broadcast live locally)
The ill-fated Tri-terium race in Southern Cal in the '80s (when the lost count of the laps on the run)
And I'm am sure there a more...

Lifetime Fitness was tape delayed by a couple of hours. It was an AM race and the coverage was around 1 PM on TV. It was "almost live".

Something in the official Kona gear - maybe it was in our registration goody bag - said December 13...possibly 2:30 EST if I remember correctly.
