Kona - Swim Course and Dolphins Can't Post

Had incredible dolphin activity on the swim course today. Beautiful creatures. They were clearly checking out all the swimmers and playing for a good hour +.

The dolphins were so cool!!!!!!!

And a huge thanks to Albert and Coffees of Hawaii for the floating coffee boat! It's been social central, out in the middle of the water.

That is so incredible. I wonder what the dolphins were saying between themselves about you guys? Did you hear them manking noises? That is a very good omen...

Man, brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it! So awesome.

Thanks for sharing this- such a pleasant insight. Have a great race!

Re: Kona - Swim Course and Dolphins [albertboyce] [In reply to] Can't Post

Albert,

Thanks for doing this. My wife Paolina Allan and I swam out for some coffee this morning and arrived just as the dolphins did. Totally awesome. Then I had the pleasure of having Scott Molina serve me up my espresso. Skid joked with me that " I bet you don't get to do this to often back in Canada!" Indeed. Special occasion to be swimming in Kailua Bay, having a shot of espresso served up by a former Ironman World Champ with dolphins swimming all around. Very cool.

Definitely one of the coolest experiences of my life. I had a blast out there today. Dolphins everywhere! Did anyone see the giant sea turtle at the buoy line?

BTW--- do you know what kind of dolphin? Bottlenose? Common?

For the turtles...just be careful not to touch em'! :-P

I guess we get spoiled here in san diego with all the dolphins playing in the surf.

missed the dolphins, but we went out scuba diving tonight with jacks dive locker, and had 4 biggg manta rays eating plancton up to a foot away from our heads, even my wife who was just snorkling with us on the surface had a great view. If you get a chance give it a try.

Why shouldn't someone not touch turtles?

Those were not dolphins flying by, that was Dave Scott getting in a bit of swim work.

Not sure what kind, but they were tri-"colored". Three different shades of grey.

Those dolphins were super bad-ass! The turtle rocked, too. And all the fish. Swimming here is AWESOME!

It's generally a bad idea to touch wildlife. Don't mess with the ecosystem.

Turtles are protected, so it is illegal to touch them.
