Has anyone found any photos of Kestrel's new version of the Talon for 2009?
Thanks!

Similar to the Airfoil question, everything. We really took a look at all the bikes and made changes where needed.
The Talon has a new head tube, down tube, full carbon fork, reworked carbon layup, and new bb area. All resulted in lighter weight, better aerodynamics, and a 20 stiffer BB area. It's really like a brand new bike. The ride quality is very much improved and for the mechanics, the cable routing on ALL the Kestrels has been improved.

I recall talk of this being a fast frame - possibly the fastest "road frame"
I am in the market for a new roadie next year - and will put this on my list, have always been a fan of kestrel.
good luck to macca this weekend - hes either on a fast bike or an absolute dog,

Beautiful bike. It's interesting that Kestrel, one of the first bicycle manufacturers to use a cut out in the seatpost, didn't feel any need to tighten up the gap. Also, probably no horizontal drop outs. Good move Kestrel!
I've been riding the original Talon since 2002 and it has always been fast. It used to be faster, but I trained harder back then!

For what it's worth, I'm heading to a wind tunnel early November and plan on bringing identically built Kestrel Talon and Cervelp P3C to see what sort of difference there might be between the two bikes with my on them. (Same forks, wheels, aerobars, etc.) I'll share my results when I get them.

That it is. I still love my '01 Talon. Anyone out there with a Talon is blessed with its speed and lucky to have one :) You know who you are.

The main weaknesses that I found with my '03 Talon were: the EMS fork--I swapped this out almost immediately; the lack of an integraded headset on the 48cm frame, which means that I need to use a drop stem to get low enough. Otherwise, this is a really solid ride.

Let me know when you are going in. We use the A2 tunnel and will be down there again mid November testing again.
