after seeing her come in a far second for some marathon some months ago (not to mention that in her attire, her short legs and waddle were funny looking) and crying like a little girl who was by all intents and purposes and via the media was just supposed to win and then pouting while being carted off by her guy friend instead of congratulating the winner or any one else in the race, i'll never think Kara attractive. now desiree is a beaut under any circumstance.
It's not about the bike, it's just along for the ride.

every time there is a big event: ironman world championships, new york marathon,etc, the top woman get pick apart by people like you. Do you ever look at their accomplishments, or is it all about where you wish you could stick your dick.

Sadly, you'll have to get used to it around here when it comes to opinions about Desfick. For some reason, we're not allowed to have them. And I find it stupid that someone (RUNNER86) asks you why you can't celebrate her accomplishment in a thread meant to evaluate who is hotter, Des or Kara. HOTNESS has nothing to do with accomplishments.

So, RUNNER86, start your own thread to celebrate her accomplishment, THIS THREAD is about her hotness (or lack thereof!)...

PS. My vote is for Kara. I prefer brunettes.

Turn about is fairplay:

If it were not for their accomplishments, would we even notice, or care who they are? This is singling out two runners amongst thousands who raced that day, both attractive, both have accomplished many things.

Both are athletic women, healthy lifestyles, which as triathletes most of gravitate towards similiar people. The title of this is who is more sexy, ( memory serves me correctly Des, did the cover on Inside Tri a few years back), not who would we like to shag

My vote is for Kara; I've seen Desiree up close at Dig Me Beach -- she is very very cute, but something about Goucher...

Having said all that, the woman runner in the light blue singlet in your picture seems hotter than either one of them!

Goucher shouldn't be attractive. There's nothing hot about her. She's small, very skinny, not particularly curvy, and kind of has a wierd lazy eye.

Having said that, I am completely enamoured by her like she has cast some sort of love spell on me.

Desiree for the weekend.

Kara for the long haul.

Both are very nice and represent their sports well.

I love the fact that Desiree continues to work hard on her running. What kind year did she have in triathlon though?

The answer is clearly Kara. She's less dude-like and also reportedly the only heterosexual of the two women you mentioned. Besides, I've seen Ficker look decent only in the example pic you included here. Goucher almost always looks hot.

Having met Desiree and knowing a couple of her friends, I can tell you she is defintiely hetero. Plus she is just a nice person. She had a couple of podium finishes this year. Not bad for a "bad" year.

Des does not look dude like in person. Do race photos make anyonbe look good?

I think we spend too much time at ST. Models are models for a reason, same with athletes, not much comparison between the two. Neither of them are models, not bad looking, but sexy? I don't know. I seem to remember an ad with Ficker in it in Triathlete, it was strange looking, but here not bad.....
