Kansas 70.3 vs IMLOU
Can't Post
How does the bike course compare to IMLOU? I've done IMLOU and IMMOO and was thinking about Kansas but want something relatively flat.

I haven't raced IMLOU, but KS70.3 is definitely not flat. Perhaps with a bit of exaggeration, the race directors claimed that KS70.3 was the toughest bike course in the North American 70.3 series. (It's not just the hills, but the wind can be pretty brutal in Lawrence; it's a long way from the Rockies to eastern Kansas, and nothing in between as a buffer.)

Come do the Florida 70.3 for a relative flat course or Miamiman for a very flat course!

I have done IMWI twice (#3 this year) and live close, so, I have ridden the course dozens of time. I did IMLP this year. I also did IMKS this year. IMHO, IMKS 70.3 was the hardest bike course I have ever raced (in a triathlon, I am not counting the Horribly Hilly Hundreds). Obviously, IM is longer, but, given the hills and the wide open exposure to the wind, I had a harder time and put up bigger power numbers than the other two courses. I had a blast at KS 70.3, but, it was tough.
