On the women's side Sofie Goos is apparently a pretty good runner but I'm going to predict Bella runs her down.

I can not in many many years remember more than one 'pass back' at any IM race...and the one I recall was in the females race.

anyone now how the water conditions were? I have a couple of freinds who are racing and their times seemed a little off? Others seem to be on par with last years swim.

Thanks,

Water was ok. very little bump. Maybe a 1ft swell, were some small waves near the shore. Winds caused a little current.

How comes noone's trying to find out who Kirill Kotšegarov is? I mean, the guy, at just 23 years of age, is literally flying, i do think he's the man to look out for.

And yes, he is a friend of mine and yes, that's the reason i signed up for slowtwitch after a few years of lurking.
but some knows who Maxim is, thanks to Zach's friend and his blog about house in Florida.. it may come to Litvenian and Ukrainian battle.......

Is it just me or does Luke's race schedule this year seem a bit extreme?

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy. I was heartbroken when he got aced in IM Louisville in the last mile or so.

The thing is, Kirill is estonian, not lithuanian or ukrainian.

Re: IM FL [triatma] [In reply to] Can't Post

Nope, Ain-Alar's coach is Jimmy Riccitello, Kirill is a part of Jüri Käen's group, Jüri Käen is the national team's coach, also supervising Marko Albert and likes. By the way, the winning time was also a national record, no estonian has gone that fast before.

I believe 8:32.04 was old one set by Kiril Litovchenko in 2004 (another Estonian with Ukrainian last name now : )

I need to give big props to Larry Black - a Ft. Myers doctor who dominates locally. 9:27 isn't too shabby for 51 years old.

I got reports that some folks were getting sea sick out there... Did the waves pick up and blast the slower folks on the 2nd loop of the swim?
