The woman is in fantastic spirits and luckily not terribly broken...
In her words:
Went to see plastics person yesterday and am due to go back tomorrow to have some of the stitches out. The bruising is coming out nicely so my face is turning all shades of yellow and blue. The left side of my head is still really sore but that is just bruising. I have attached a couple of piccies for your amusement!! My arms and knuckles are pretty torn up too but the rest of me is fine - unbelievable. I fully appreciate that it could have been a whole lot worse and that I am very very lucky. Doesn’t help with the mental loss of not completing the race, but I am thankful I’m not sat in a dentist chair talking about the need for major dental surgery etc.
Jacs popped in last night and said the bike had a cool battle wound on the left brake bar so I am looking forward to seeing that!! Hopefully there is no major damage elsewhere.
Am determined to get out there again asap, and if the eyes are ok I will have absolutely no excuse for not putting in a damn good effort at Timberman. ”
Glad to hear that you are okay as well! One of the motorcyclists recounts his view, if you are interested, on the blog here:

I have the blue steel syndrome I can't turn left, I never had fun going down Keene Hill, my brakes are worn out by the time I am at the bottom
I hope everyone is okay!

I'm so glad to hear that she is going to be ok and that her spirit is in tact. I wish her a full and speedy recovery.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the guy who started it all do?
I'm pretty sure I saw him coming back to check on the woman. At least I think it was him, I was a bit out of it for a few minutes afterwards.
There was a man riding back to the crash seen. That is for sure. If he was the one who started it I do not know. But, as you were still sitting by your bike there was a rider returning

My wife (125-130lbs) hit 64 mph in the national championship road race a few years ago at Seven Springs in PA. Some of the girls were sitting on their top tubes decending at those speeds-man, you better be sure about your bike handling skills!

That could have been Pro Ken Glah, back in 2002?
BTW, does anyone know how the guy on the climb on the "out and back" is doing? A rider screaming down the hill on the out-n-back crossed over the yellow lines headed straight for me, went sideways and took out the guy next to me. This was on the first loop.

Hey guys, I'm the woman who went down on the Keene - Upper Jay section on Sunday. Really appreciate your concern. I am on the mend now but my day was well and truly over. A year of training down the drain - am not feeling too good about that. All credit to the ironman race marshalls and Lake Placid volunteers/medics though - they were awesome. The guy who caused the crash pulled out without looking then appeared to slam on his brakes as he wobbled and weeved around. He clipped my wheel, I was unable to regain control and got slammed into the road..only to get run over by the bike behind. The guy that pulled out carried on and finished but did not stop. Apparently race officials caught up with him after he'd finshed and made it very clear it was his fault! That is all I know. :( Until next year!!

Wow. Those pictures tell a horrific story too.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
