Help mounting Carbon Rail Arione Tri 2 on P2C? Can't Post

I just picked up a white Arione Tri 2 with the braided carbon rails, but the rails are much larger in diameter than standard saddle rails and are almost oval in shape. As such, the rails don't want to fit into the mounting brackets on my '08 P2C. Has anyone else encountered this? Do they make special brackets for this saddle?

That seat does not fit on many posts...not sure about the Cervelo, would not shock me if it is a no go.

Thanks Chip...anyone else had success with this saddle on a Cervelo?

Ok. After doing some research, I find that all3sports.com states "This saddle is not compatible with the Cervelo P2C and P3C seatpost." Major bummer here as I was really excited to give this saddle a go. Has anyone developed a possible work around? It seems that if the mounting brackets were a little wider it would fit.

Looking at my Cervelo post...the way the top is, there should be no issue dealing with the greater height of the carbon rails...this is presuming that the width fits. Where is it that you are running into your issue? (I am presuming you have the same clamp style as on my P3)...but thinking more, if you are on the new circle style clamp of the P3C - I am betting it is a no go unless you want to take a rat tail file to the seat clamp, I would do that on my bike - but not yours ;-)

Fred, the saddle won't fit, unfortunately. I was in the same situation as you: got the Tri 2 Carbon, then realized the braided rails did not quite work with the clamp on my P3C. So I e-mailed Cervelo customer service, and they confirmed that this particular Arione is not compatible. I was really pissed, but there was nothing else to do put the saddle on eBay. Sorry for the bad news...

We wanted to love this exotic saddle, and we do love the other Fizik saddles including the Arione and the Arione Tri 2. The carbon rail version left us cold for exactly the reason you mentioned. Very few seatpost clamps would accomodate the oversized molded carbon rails.

To us, it seemed a feature with no benefit. I think you're better off with the excellent Ti rail version.

When I was looking for a new saddle for my '08 P2C I saw that the new 2009 P2C uses the Arione Tri2, so I got the version with the carbon rails. Yeah, it's a no go. It never entered my mind that it wouldn't work. I wanted to bump this as it is going to frustrate a lot of folks.

Its a no-go. I tried it to no avail, asked Cervelo and they confirmed it will not fit on the P3C or P2C post. Get thee to Flea-bay.

Hi,

I tried filing the seat post to get that saddle to fit, I got to a point where I was starting to worry about structural integrity, so I stopped. I then spent good money on replacing the filed bits, and gave the saddle to a friend.

If you are watching Hawaii look for the saddle under local superstar Ryan Cain, he is there to crush dreams, after his 16th place at IMUSA.

Scott are now including 2 types of clamps on their Road bikes to accommodate these saddles. Im not sure if its the same for their TT bikes, but would be surprised if it wasnt the case.
