HED C2 90 fit question
Can't Post
I contacted HED with this question but they didn't know the answer off hand. I'm considering getting a C2 90 rear wheel. I want to make sure that it will fit my road bike as well, a Scott CR1 Pro, with the wider width of that rim. HED said that they were having issues with the Scott Plasm fitting. Anyone know whether this wheel will fit into the CR1 Pro without scrubbing?

Ask HED about the 'skinny' option. They were really helpful when my Jet C2 didn't fit on my Argon...

I did but I was hoping that the CR1 Pro might not need that. If it doesn't then I can just get the standard build which I prefer. I just need to find out if it will fit or not.

I cannot be of any help yet, but if anyone knows how wide the wide point is on a Jet C2-90 and how far out from the axle it extends, I can measure my plasma (L) and my friends CR1 (M) and post up the numbers. That should hopefully be of some use. to someone. ( I see the OP already has a CR1, )

Widest on mine was 32mm, probably a 6 - 7 cm in from the rim, not sure about that, but I measured the width with calipers. Widest clearance of my chainstay...you guessed it, 32mm...
Do a search, I think the guys from HED have posted some of the frames known to be problematic with the C2s...

I have found that the biggest problem with the C2 90 is not so much the overall width, but the variabliity of the width. The fairing varies in width around its circumference so you can set the wheel up so that it clears the chain stays, rotate the wheel 90 or 180 degrees, and the fairing will touch the chain stays again!
My C2 60 does not suffer from the problem at all.
Very , very frustrating and disappointing for the money I paid for it.

You really contact HED, I had the same problem and they were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. My wheel is now perfect and I'm very happy.

Can you tell or show me where to measure my CR1 Pro and I'll get the measurement (mine is size 51 I believe). The guy at HED said that I could take a photo and send it to him and he could tell me but I can't seem to find my camera.

WILLPA measured his jet as being widest between 6 and 7cm back from the rim , but a normal wheel in your frame, and measure a similar distance inwards in a straightline to the axle , ( mark a convienent spoke to recall the distance.) then rotate the wheel so the mark lines up with the chainstay. That will be the point to measure the chainstay gap. there will probably only be a very small variation between the frame sizes since the BBs are all the same width and the same size wheel is used as well.
