Gordon Haller Can't Post

Did anyone notice that Gordon is racing Hawaii with #78? Very cool I think!

Re: Gordon Haller [Axel] [In reply to] Can't Post

Gordon is a class act. I was directing an IronKids race in Nashville a few years back and noticed an gentleman volunteering who was wearing an Ironman hat. I asked him what Ironman he participated in and he said that he had done a few. Asked him his name and he said Gordon Haller! I was said - "you won the first Ironman!" And he said - yes, that was a long time ago. He told me he heard about the IronKids race and thought that he would come out to volunteer. What a nice guy! Z

Dave Orlowski is also racing for the first time since 1978.

He came 3rd that year.

Spoke with Gordon last night ... unfortunately, he will not be racing, as he has an injured foot. He hasn't run for about 6 weeks, and had stopped swimming, too. Said he'll be back for the 40th and 50th :). Great, humble guy.

Dave has done more than just '78. I am quite certain he did both the 20th and 25th.

I listened to a podcast on competitor and he said he hadnīt done another one since then. He wantīs to go 1 hour faster then in 1978 though... and not wear a cut-off jeans this time... very cool.
