Goal weights Can't Post

After racing at 160-165 for the past few years, and running my late season marathon last december at about 167, I decided to slim down for this season. Today I hit my goal of 154 (I'm 5 feet, 10.5 inches), so I'm quite happy, and I think my performance, especially running, is going to benefit. The slimming took about 6 weeks.

But that's not the real story here. The real story is my girlfriend, Stephanie. Exactly 24 weeks after making a major lifestyle change through diet and exercise (mostly spinning), she met her goal weight today. She lost a whopping 43 pounds, and she reduced her body fat by 12%!!!!!!!! I can only say: Steph kicks ass! She now weighs less than I do, for the first time in the 8 years we've known each other.

She forced herself to not buy any new clothes for the past 5 months, so she has been walking around in clown pants for quite a while. Today she is going on a major shopping spree.

Sorry if this is off topic a bit, but I just had to share her great news with the forum!!! Now, if I could only get her interested in swimming, running, or cycling outside...

Dude, that's awesome! She deserves major props for that. Maybe her shopping spree should include some workout clothes, too? ;)

That is a sterling effort for both of you.

Workout clothes are already on the agenda. The shorts she has been spinning in a a bit ridiculous. :)
