FirmMan Rhode Island Can't Post
Is anyone doing this race or know much about it?

I've done it twice but haven't been back in a few years and I do know a few things have changed since then. Swim is mostly parallel to the beach with a friendly current, so your swim split will be a bit faster than normal. I believe a portion of the bike course is still along Rt.1 where you essentially ride in the breakdown lane and have to cross on/off ramps. Run course used to finish along the beach and if it is a nice day, you have to dodge beach-goers the last few hundred yards (again, this may have changed since I last did it, so my apologies if this is incorrect). All in all not a bad race but there are other 1/2 IM's in New England that I liked better. Just my $.02

Overall pretty fast... faster than Timberman but not as fast as Eagleman.

There's been threads on this in the past so a search may be beneficial.

Love this race. Great support and 7 or so miles of hills in the middle of the bike break it up nicely. Rt 1 doesn't look great from inside the car on preview, but on race day you'll be surprised how well it goes. Fastest 1.2 swim you may do. Finish on the beach and enjoy the crowd to the line.
